CHPF was privileged to host its esteemed partner, Baraka Health Net, for a strategic engagement meeting aimed at deepening collaboration and reinforcing shared objectives under the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) Project. The engagement marked an important milestone in strengthening institutional partnerships dedicated to advancing equitable, accessible, and community-driven healthcare services.

The visiting delegation from Baraka Health Net was led by the Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Mercy Kamau, and comprised German Doctors Country Representative Ms. Judy Ronoh, Chief Administrator Ms. Perpetual Bulemi, and Head of the Clinical Team Ms. Gaudencia Salano. The meeting was formally chaired by the Chairperson of the CHPF Board of Trustees, Dr. Reuben Waswa, whose stewardship provided strategic direction and ensured alignment with the overarching goals of the UHC Project.
The session commenced with formal introductions, fostering a spirit of mutual understanding and collaboration between the teams. This was followed by a comprehensive orientation on the UHC Project, highlighting its objectives, implementation framework, and expected outcomes. Discussions centered on identifying practical and innovative ways to enhance synergy between CHPF and Baraka Health Net, with a particular focus on strengthening service delivery at the community level. Emphasis was placed on coordinated planning, effective utilization of resources, and the integration of community feedback into program implementation to ensure sustainability and impact.

Both Ms. Kamau and Ms. Ronoh reaffirmed their strong commitment to supporting community-driven health initiatives under the UHC Project. They emphasized the importance of partnerships in addressing systemic health challenges and acknowledged the critical role of grassroots engagement in achieving universal health coverage. Their remarks underscored a shared vision of empowering communities through accessible, high-quality healthcare services that respond to local needs.

The engagement concluded with a guided tour of the Health Information Point (HIP), a key facility supporting community access to health information and services. During the visit, the delegation interacted directly with community members, gaining firsthand insights into service utilization and community experiences. The feedback received was overwhelmingly positive, reflecting appreciation for the quality, relevance, and impact of the services offered.

The Health Information Point operates in collaboration with the prestigious North Coast Medical Training College and provides a wide range of essential health services free of charge. This collaboration not only enhances service delivery but also supports the training and capacity-building of future healthcare professionals. The initiative strongly aligns with CHPF’s mission to promote equitable access to healthcare and its broader goal of ensuring health for all, without discrimination or financial barriers.
Overall, the strategic engagement reinforced the value of strong partnerships in building resilient health systems and improving health outcomes at the community level. CHPF and Baraka Health Net remain committed to sustaining this collaboration, leveraging shared expertise, and scaling impactful interventions under the UHC Project. Together, the partners continue to work toward healthier, empowered communities through inclusive, people-centered healthcare solutions.
