Yost World Menstrual Hygiene Day Celebration

Do you understand the challenges that a girl child undergoes in relation menstruation periods? CHPF through the SRHR project in collaboration with North Coast Medical Training College provided a platform for the community in celebrating the World Menstrual Hygiene Day held at Kireme-Bomani Junju ward Kilifi south Sub-County on 31st May 2025. The plaotform had a series of activities including sensitization and challenge sharing. This was done by the North Coast Medical Training College students integrated into the program through the Community Based Education and Services.

This occasion was attended by girls and boys (youths) and the parents. Its with great honor that the underserved community was reached at the community level.

Parents were called upon to empress the virtue of positive parenting for the success of the girl child. The girls were issued with sanitary pads a packet of 6 each. For sustainability parents were urged to take responsibility.

Since the entry of the project into the community there has been a significant decrease in the teenage pregnancy. Partners present were, Ma-Advocate CBO, Soko Community Trust and Safe Community Youth Initiative.

The occassion was graced by the Area Assistant Chief Mr. Shehe Shaba Bomani Kireme.
