Coconut Three planting distribution

Community based initiatives remains the only option for community development. With regard to this CHPF and North Coast Medical Training College are carrying out the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of giving coconut seedlings to the members of the community across the catchment areas curtesy of Equity Bank Kenya.

We aimed at distributing a total of 1000 seedlings that will boost the economy of families and the community in three years time. The project that its beneficiaries are the community members willing to take responsibility. The distribution was officiated by the CHPF programs manager Miss Addah Alela on Monday 07/07/2025 and expected to end by Friday 11/07/2025. The seedlings were donated by the equity bank on 20/06/2025 delivered by Hon. Bonface Gatobu the Director Equity Bank Foundation.

This collaboration (Cooperate Social Responsibility) aims at elevating the community economically based on the benefits of the plant as: The coconut tree provides food, fuel, cosmetics, folk medicine and building materials, among many other uses. The inner flesh of the mature seed, as well as the coconut milk extracted from it, forms a regular part of the diets of many people in the tropics and subtropics.

A total 82 community members received the seedlings to plant and the planting as of 10th /07/2025 was undergoing with the CHPF and North Coast Medical Training College taking part in the process in various areas of their catchment. This close supervision ensures close monitoring of the progress and also puts the beneficiaries on toes.
