At the Community Health Promotion Fund (CHPF), partnerships are the heartbeat of our mission to create healthier, more resilient communities. Friday 24 Oct 2035 marked a significant milestone as we had the privilege of hosting our long-term donor and partner from Germany at our CHPF headquarters in Bomani. The visit was both inspiring and impactful — a true reflection of our shared commitment to advancing Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and improving community health for all.
Celebrating Growth Through Partnership
Over the past few years, our collaboration with German Doctors has been instrumental in driving forward our UHC initiatives. This partnership has empowered communities, strengthened local health systems, and brought essential health services closer to the people who need them most.
Together, we have worked tirelessly to ensure that no one is left behind — especially vulnerable populations who face barriers in accessing quality and affordable healthcare. Through joint programs, training, and community outreach, we continue to make tangible progress in realizing the vision of Health for All.

A Meeting Focused on Impact and Sustainability
During the visit, we held insightful discussions centered around the continued growth and sustainability of the UHC project. Key highlights of the meeting included:
- Milestones achieved in expanding access to Primary Health Care (PHC) across our focus communities.
- The future roadmap of the UHC Project — emphasizing sustainability, innovation, and community ownership.
- Collaborative strategies to further integrate preventive health services, health education, and capacity building.
These conversations reinforced our mutual commitment to developing community-driven health solutions that ensure lasting change.
Leadership and Collaboration at Work

The meeting was gracefully moderated by Dr. Reuben Waswa, Chairperson of the CHPF Board of Trustees, alongside Dr. Mariane Darwinkel, Board Secretary. Their leadership set the tone for open dialogue, strategic reflection, and forward-looking planning.
In attendance were key members of the CHPF team — Miss Addah Alela (Programs Manager), UHC Project Manager, COBES Manager, Finance Manager, and the Principal from our esteemed partner institution, North Coast Medical Training College. Their collective insights and expertise enriched the discussion, highlighting the power of collaboration across sectors.
Deep Appreciation to Our German Partners
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to German Doctors for their unwavering support, trust, and dedication to transforming community health. Their partnership has been a cornerstone of our success — enabling us to implement effective, community-based health programs that continue to change lives every day.
Through shared values of compassion, equity, and sustainability, we are jointly building a model for Universal Health Coverage that can inspire other regions to follow. Together, we envision a world where every person — regardless of where they live — can access the healthcare they deserve.
Looking Ahead: Building on a Strong Foundation

As we look to the future, CHPF remains steadfast in its mission to promote Primary Health Care (PHC) as the foundation for Universal Health Coverage. We are committed to strengthening health systems, empowering community health workers, and fostering partnerships that drive lasting impact.
The visit from our German partners reaffirmed our shared vision — a vision where collaboration, innovation, and compassion unite to create a healthier tomorrow.
Together, we’re not just promoting health — we’re shaping the future of community wellness.
