On 12-08-2025 Community health promotion fund (CHPF) joined the world in the celebration of the International Youth Day. This year’s celebration is commemorated under the theme of “Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and beyond”, highlighting the unique role of youth in translating global ambitions into community-driven realities.
The activity brought on board youths from across our catchment areas. This involves the youth social groups from Junju, Mtepeni, Bomani-Kireme Chidongo and Mirima Minne. CHPF trust in the youth empowerment for community prosperity and posterity. In our capacity we advocate social and economic empowerment for the young people (youths) within our catchment area. We called upon the youths to use multi-agency approach towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and more so the need to having collaborative efforts. The occasion was hosted at Junju Primary school playground.
CHPF recognizes that young people are crucial in championing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) due to their unique position as the future generation, their direct experience with many SDG-related issues, and their capacity for innovative solutions. Their involvement is vital for achieving sustainable development, as they bring fresh perspectives, energy, and a willingness to drive change. We understand that;
Youths are future leaders: Youth represent the next generation of leaders who will inherit the world and be responsible for implementing the SDGs.
They have direct experience: They are experiencing many of the challenges the SDGs aim to address, such as climate change, inequality, and lack of access to education and healthcare.
They innovative and creative: Young people are often at the forefront of developing new ideas and solutions to address these challenges, bringing fresh perspectives and innovative approaches.
They can act and engage: They are actively involved in mobilizing communities, raising awareness, and participating in initiatives to promote the SDGs.
They build networks: Youths are skilled at building networks and movements, both within their own generation and across generations, which is essential for driving large-scale change.
They can shaping the future: They have a vested interest in shaping a sustainable future and are passionate about creating a better world for themselves and future generations.
Collaborators that joined us in the event were; Shofco and Madivocate (CBO).
