CHPF-NCMTC UHC AND DHC CAPACITY BUILDING TRAINING

CHPF as a community that deals with the health matters of the community, appreciates the fact that to address the challenges in the health sector one has to capacity built. In collaboration with the Ministry of health (MOH) and the North Coast Medical Training College (NCMTC) had to plan and organize a session for capacity building. Therefore community health promotion fund organized a session with the Community Health Promoters (CHPs), the community health committee members (CHCs) and the dispensaries health committee members (DHCs). We have been and still have a strong bond and good working relation of with the community health workers at all levels. The training aimed at capacitating the team on good working relation with the members of the public. Advocacy was another key area of concern to enable them understand their role as focal people in the community. Their role is therefore to ensure the build networks and linkages to help address various issues in the community.

As an organization we are ready to work with other stakeholders to promote primary health care in the community which is the core of the Universal Health Care (UHC). The event was graced by the SCMOH-Kilifi south sub-county, Kilifi county Dr. Sultan and the Principal NCMTC madam Dorothy. through or programme Enhanced Primary Health Care – Community Based Education Services (EPHC-COBES) we donated medical equipment to seven (7) dispensaries…. for more the video highlight below has it all.

Disability talk

“Disability is not inability” an inspiration learned by the North Coast Medical Training College students from Victor Landman who is a disabled student from the Netherlands. Victor is a nursing student in his 3rd year at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede. He had the opportunity to give a presentation, which focused on his perceptional change story about disability.
His closing remarks were: “People with disabilities have unique experiences, and it is essential to grant them opportunities to explore and express themselves” Three things to be addressed by the community on disability includes:
1. Recognition of disabled
2. Be given opportunity
3. Be listened to
