"Accelerating Primary Health Care through Strategic Program Implementation Approaches and Innovative Training for Sustainable Health Outcomes''

Background information

Community Health Promotion Fund (CHPF) is a legally registered charitable trust dedicated to advancing health and education among vulnerable populations in Kenya, with a strong focus on equitable service delivery.

Its primary role involves mobilizing and coordinating donor and partner support to enhance health interventions, particularly across Kilifi County. CHPF works collaboratively with the Ministry of Health and the North Coast Medical Training College (NCMTC) to implement its mission.

Primary Health Care (PHC) forms the cornerstone of equitable and accessible healthcare, ensuring individuals can obtain essential health services—including health promotion, disease prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and palliative care—without financial strain. PHC is central to building resilient, inclusive, and effective health systems and is foundational to achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC).

Amid growing global health challenges such as limited resources and emerging diseases, there is an urgent need for innovative, sustainable, and community-cantered health strategies. In line with Kenya’s national UHC agenda, this initiative seeks to create a collaborative platform that encourages multi-sectoral partnerships, strengthens the health workforce, and empowers communities committed to shared health goals.
